Description
The frustration shared by many Pen Makers / Wood Turners is that a standard twist / brad point drill bit clogs up & snaps, or warps an exotic wood blank. Many pen blanks are thrown out because of inadequate chip removal. The flutes of a Fisch pen drill are noticeably different when compared to standard drill bit flutes. With less clogging, better tip geometry and faster chip extraction, the heat created by the drilling process is dramatically decreased. The deep flute shape clears the chips without repeatedly having to back the bit out during the cut. No vibrations or wandering of the drill bit during the drilling process. Overall length is 150 mm.
Key Features:
- ENGINEERED FOR PEN TURNERS Precision-crafted 7mm drill bit designed specifically for pen blanks and small-scale woodturning projects.
- PARABOLIC FLUTE DESIGN Unique geometry eliminates the need to withdraw mid-drill, enabling full-length use in a single pass while minimizing clogging.
- EXCEPTIONAL CLEAN CUTS Sharp cutting edge glides through tough end grain, delivering smooth entry and exit holes with minimal tear-out.
- LONG-LASTING EDGE RETENTION Capable of drilling up to 1350 holes without re-sharpening, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
- M2 HIGH-SPEED STEEL DURABILITY Made from hardened M2 HSS for maximum wear resistance, reduced friction, and extended bit life under continuous use.
- Parabolic Flute design eliminating the need to withdraw the bit until the hole has been drilled through
- Can drill up to 1350 holes without sharpening
- European Pen Makers Drill Bits made from M2 HSS High Speed Steel for longer service
- The full length of the drill bit can be used in a single pass
- Reduced friction by the shape of the outer flute area makes for faster drilling and less heat buildup for longer life
